After long deliberations, Martin Eede has regretfully resigned from the positions of Chairman & Club Secretary with immediate effect.
The Board have reluctantly accepted and would like to thank Martin for all his efforts over the past three years.
Fisher FC Spokesman Joe Arif stated; ‘Martin has been a terrific asset and was especially instrumental in setting up the new Fisher FC after the demise of the old club last year. His experience and contacts in the non-league game have been hugely beneficial. Martin was not only an effective Chairman but also a much needed mentor to many of us. Martin feels the club has come a long way in a relatively short space of time and the Fisher board now possess the right amount of experience to push on. We respect his decision and wish Martin well in his future ventures.’
Fisher manager Gary Lisney said ‘On a personal note I’d like to thank Martin Eede for all his support since I came to the club and I wish him well for the future’. Lisney continued; ‘Bryan Glover (Assistant Manager) and I are both looking forward to the new campaign. I’m in regular contact with the players and many if not all remain 100% committed to the cause.’
The team are due back for pre season training on June 22nd ahead of the friendlies at Champion Hill with Millwall XI on July 10th and Dagenham & Redbridge on the 21st.
Regrettable but completely understood. Martin has served in non-league football for longer than most of the board have been alive, and brought passion, determination and no little humour into the club. I hope this is more a retirement than a resignation, and that he can come to Champion Hill and actually enjoy a game of football for once!
He will be difficult to replace.
Posted by Tim Rodgers | June 16, 2010, 12:50 pmI think it’s a resignation rather than a retirement. Martin would be a great asset to any club and I know his not short on offers. Might have a bit of time out but his sort can’t be out of the game for long – I’m sure he’ll be involved somewhere before a ball is kicked in anger this season.
All we can do is say thanks for everything and good luck – and so we move on.
