Fisher this week announced the signing of former Luton and Grays Athletic defender George Beavan, who put pen to paper before the Beckenham game on Monday.
George, 21, is a left-sided defender who is comfortable at centre-half or left-back. Having made his debut with Luton in League 1 in 2008, George joined Grays Athletic on loan in 2009 and made 19 appearances as he helped them stave off relegation from the Conference. Beavan left Luton in the summer of 2010 and joins the Fish as Steve Firkins looks to increase his options in defence.
Firko may not have George available on Saturday, however as he is currently struggling with illness. We face Canterbury City at Champion Hill, and if you were there the last time we faced City at Champion Hill then you probably still can’t believe what you witnessed as the game finished 6-6.
Charlie Helps returned to training this week, and Adam Wadmore is also likely to be available for selection after recovering from his groin injury. Richie Monan however is still under the weather with a flu-like illness, and it will be touch and go whether he has recovered sufficiently to be considered for Saturday. Ken Jarrett-Elliott remains out with an ankle knock, but Firko has plenty of options as he considers whether to make any changes for Saturday.
The team will be looking to get back on track on Saturday so make your way down to Champion Hill to lend your support. Trains are running as normal from London Bridge and South Bermondsey.
